Suffice to say, I'm still loving writing the site, as we approach our second anniversary. I know, right? Two years since Digi came back! It still feels bizarre, but somehow so very right.
The only reason Digitiser2000 exists, that we were able to offer the long-awaited Digitiser t-shirts and keep updating day after day, is because of your enthusiasm. I honestly don't have the words to express my gratitude for your kindness and support - not least in the wake of my recent eye-bashing.
You're a bunch of very lovely people. Whatever the opposite of a punch in the eye is - I offer you that.
We're probably going to be holding them back from general sale until after the Block Party, however - where we're aiming to have some sort of merchandise stall. We think we know what our next designs will be, but if you have something specific in mind - let us know.
Other merchandise ideas we're considering include mugs and a 2017 calendar. If there's something you'd prefer... again, tell us in the comments below.
Talking of Block Party, we've just a few tickets left. If this inaugural Digi-fest is the success we're hoping it is, we'll be looking at holding another one next year.
Many of you aren't able to make it, because of travel issues, so we'll look at holding any future event somewhere more accessible, such as London or Manchester. But that's a way off yet.
For those who are attending, we'll be putting up more details soon. Currently, we've more ideas than we have time for - but we can confirm that the day events (for those of you lucky enough to nab one of the limited all-day tickets before they sold out) are more or less locked into place.
They will include a teletext design panel, and the chance for you to create your own teletext pages - with the help of the experts. Also, if you're coming along and you have any old VHS tapes from the 80s, 90s or 00s, please bring them with you. Teletext archeologist Jason Robertson may be able to recover teletext and Digitiser pages from them.
I've spent the past few weeks putting together some exclusive video content - which will bring many of your Digi and Digi2000 favourites to horrible life. Mr Hairs and I are hoping to get together to film some more stuff before October. It's literally hurting my back trying to resist showing any of it to you. It's as close to Biffovision as anything else I've ever done.
The evening will be, in true Digitiser style, fairly loose and chaotic, and we're still considering ideas. Though talking of B'vision, I recently managed to find some behind-the-scenes footage of the pilot, should that be something you might be interested in seeing (perhaps as part of a Biffovision panel). Once more - if you want that, or have something else you'd like to hear/see/watch... let us know below.
As well as the big Digi panel featuring myself, Mr Hairs, Mr Udders and Violet Berlin - hosted by top stand-up and massive Digi fan Chris Coltrane - we will be giving away some prizes on the night (including a very special one in particular). Plus we'll just be hanging around, looking forward to meeting you all.
We are also in discussions with a potential sponsor regarding food and drink - so guests should hopefully be suitably fed, watered, and boozed-up.
Also: lots and lots of old games to play for free!
LAST WORD
Lastly, just an atypical reminder that Digitiser2000 is entirely dependent on your kind generosity.
We're still accepting Patreon and PayPal donations, which is the only funding this site receives (we've somehow never really made a profit on t-shirt sales) - all review copies are bought out of it, and currently most of our Patreon fund is being sunk into the new video stuff (which I promise won't disappoint).
We've sort of stopped doing big donor rewards - as they were both time consuming and not considered very popular - but if there is something we could offer beyond the splendid, regular, content you get on here every day, which would tempt you to back us, then please let us know.
And that's it! Thank you again to everyone who supports us - whether it's through donations, by sharing stuff on here, joining in on the comments, or just generally being sort of nice and friendly. Thank you.
One last thing to say: we need letters for the Friday Letters Page. Send deez (and all other things) here plz: digitiser2000@gmail.com
