Mini versions of the SNES, NES, Commodore 64 and PlayStation have been hot commodities in recent Christmases - with a Sega Mega Drive/Genesis mini on the way. However, retro gaming collectors aren't too keen on them.

A lot of sense was spoken, but I disagree that these mini's aren't for enthusiasts because they are for them, too. Yes, I could "build a raspberry pi with 9,000,000 roms I'd never play" but these things look cool next to the telly, have joypads which are exactly like the real thing and (the Nintendo ones at least) have "that" Nintendo polish you expect from them.

I think you have it wrong I can’t see casual buyers just picking up a mini console I think they are exactly for enthusiasts and the SNES classic has great games yes it’s missing pilotwings but the games selection is pretty much perfect the ps1 classic however is a different story very poor show from Sony a half arsed attempt it’s as though they did it cos they thought they had to
