My Robocod™ nasal decongestant is missing from the cover of my magazine.
To whom should I make my formal complaint, please?

Remember Gamer - absolutely brilliant, I have a few issues of Retro Gamer (obviously unrelated, perish the thought!) and all it really serves to do is highlight how hideously limited games were in the past and how incredible they have become! Though membering is nice, just stick with the memories, under no circumstances try and actually play these old games, they simply don't hold up to modern standards!

I dunno. I’ve written for probably 60 or 70 issues of that mag. It’s at its best when delving into the history of gaming. When it’s about documentation and research, it provides insight into a medium that is, frankly, really poorly catered for when it comes to getting its stories down. We have loads of books and magazines about how pop music, movies, telly, etc, game to be. Games? Way less.

I don’t really care for the bits that are more about championing Old Game X because it’s an old game. But finding out how and why things were done the way they were, and how that impacted on games today, is something I always find really interesting. (It’s also fun to discover stories, such as why Defender has particle effects – that’s basically down to a bloke wanting to impress his boss, and so he ignored him when asked for a three-frame sprite-based explosion.)

Wireframe is quite good for this too, quite often has features about developers, or written by developers, explaining why or how they made the games they did.

You should get on Amazon and buy a copy of Microbrits. A look at the history of the British game industry and it's connecting stories...

On the subject of computing history, make sure to check out Electronic Dreams by Tom Lean - really fascinating history of microcomputers in the 1980s, including things like how the Post Office invented the Internet (sort of).

Saying that, the whole Poo Poo Bum Bum adventure series hasn't been as great since the sequel: The wipe of Destiny.

The latest game is a travesty, besmirching the whole brand, smearing it with darker brown graphic hue that makes it hard to see. And don't get me started on the killing off the side character McaFecal Turdington. Brown rage, right guys?

Hang on, they're are coming back...

In the third game, Diarrhoea Deception, I thought they scraped the bottom of the bowl with the S.C.A.T. ( stink creation and tactics) game mechanic. It was rubbish. It use to slip right out of my grasp.

But the final boss (Pinch it off the third? Can't remember the name) was a neat twist. The graphics for him were a strain on my system. Needed more fibre-optics for the download.

When he summoned the hemorrhoid dragon, it piled the damage on me....

Bugger, they've come back... Gotta go.

Amiga delusion cover disks were good. Programmers didn't care anymore and gave them full versions of everything, probably by shoving a cardboard box marked "unprofitable shit" in the receptionists hands and speeding off.

wasn't really much games in it though. mostly about the promises of whoever owned commodore's smoking wreck this week, followed by 50 of the best shareware menubar clocks.

**Must not mention that Amiga Delusion comes with a blank HD floppy even though most Amigas only had DD floppy drives**

Yet another attack from Digitiser on the Amiga community. My Amiga has 64gb of RAM and the latest OS from whoever owns the brand this week. Did you know Amiga's were used on Babylon 5? OK so the graphics looked like crap and you could get better renders on a PC game just 2 years later but Babylon 5. BABYLON FIVE!

My Amiga can outperform any computer sold in PC World sold today and it cost me a mere £78,000 to do this.

2020 will be the year of the Amiga comeback and then, THEN, you will be laughing on the other side of your face!

I'll laugh my chuffing arse off if someone does actually succeed in reviving the Amiga and it's a better machine than PCs or Switches. I'd just love to see the look on Biffo's face. It would be a joy to behold.

You should have done an early 90s Spectrum magazine - "500 free games on our cover tape! 16 pages of magazine, because nobody's releasing Spectrum games anymore!" Those were the days...

I adore these.

Amiga Delusion is my personal favourite as I did own and love my Amiga right until 1994 when seeing games like Doom, System Shock, Under A Killing Moon and most significantly for me the preview of the completely hatstand and wonderful Total Distortion made it clear that the PC had leapt far beyond the Amiga, and that no stories of Babylon 5 special effects could deny that.
