It's Friday, which means it is the day of the Friday Letters. Please... If you would like to be immortalised on this page, all you must do is send your questions, comments and "that" to here: digitiser2000@gmail.com
NO MAN'S LAND
So, No Man's Sky eh? It's pretty much Out There (Mi-Clos Studio), isn't it? I mean, it just is, isn't it?
Ian
I hadn't even heard of this Out There of which you speak. I took me three reads to realise you weren't saying that No Man's Sky was "out there" - as in, y'know, "far out, man".
NO MON'S LAND
Biffomon: why is it not a thing?
Gameplay Jenny
It is in Jamaica.
BUM ONGO
If you were a sprite, what sprite would you be?

HER NAME IS RIO
The sporting shenanigans taking place in Rio make me think back to happier days when waggling one's joystick was more warmly looked upon in company.

I favoured the Activision Decathlon by David Crane on C64 for my exercise back in the 80's, with the benefit of an Atari VCS joystick. This was modified by removing the rubber shroud to make the stick motion easier. This was certainly easier than bashing Track & Field's arcade buttons!

What was your favourite exercise-a-thon game?
Okeyblokey
I'm terrible at all of them. Never managed to be good at any Track & Field-style game. Wii Sports is probably my favourite, but only because you could win merely by thrashing around.
YELLOW HENRY
My friend Sammy says your page is rubbish and gets annoyed when I tag her in the Facebook posts. Please make a funny drawing that I will laugh at and she will get annoyed by. I like it when the snakes say their world famous catchphrase "Cussing is bad" haha. Her favourite movie is Bee Movie starring Jerry Seinfeld. Thanks, friend.
Alastair Foster
This is just for Sammy. Tell her to press reveal.

THE RUNNING MAN
HA HA HA HA HA! No, but seriously... why is it that video game characters still don't look like they're running properly?

Everything else in modern games is oh so glorious, shiny, and mild, but as soon as a third-person dude starts running, I (massive pronounced 'I' that I can't show in writing coz all 'I's are in capitals so it looks like a normal 'I') have to start running myself to get away from them, if you see what I'm saying!!!!!!

I'm saying that characters do stupid running, in particular on Battlefront, which otherwise is the best thing EVER.

On the instructions it shouldn't say 'L3 = run', it should say 'L3 = wibbly wobbly forwards quicker than normal'. It truly is a 'running joke'.

PARK A. MAN
Another one for Friday, more a general Teletext question: what were your thoughts on Park Avenue? Paramount Text ended up with the old Oracle machines. The Ed said that Park Ave was still stored in them, so repeated it. Would the Teletext machines still be around and if so would old Digi pages still be stored?

Also have you stopped doing videos? I was enjoying those.
Glyn Heaviside
I remember Park Avenue, and read it occasionally on Oracle. I was more a fan of their cartoons though - 4-T the Dog and Barney's Bunch. Pretty sure that the Teletext servers are all gone now, sadly. Which is why it's important that people bring their old VHS tapes to the Block Party on October 1st, to see if we can recover some more editions of Digi.

Talking of... I've not officially stopped doing videos. I've just been eye-wateringly busy this year, and had to prioritise. They were never as popular as the written stuff, though I did enjoy doing them. But... I've been putting together some special video stuff for Block Party, which has given me a bit of a taste for it again, and I think I've finally found what the video Digi should be. I think. So... once Block Party is out of the way, you may well get some more.

There are still a handful of tickets left, incidentally - but we're almost sold out now. Get them here! We're going to be offering evening ticket holders (free) upgrades to all-day tickets.

Hi Biffo,

I can send you my old eurotrash compilation tapes if you like.

You could also try and recover the teletext data once you're finished with them.

Whilst i'm all for spreading the Digi love, isn't upgrading all Block Party tickets to Day tickets going to mean that it's no longer guaranteed that everyone will get into the talks? I recall you saying that Day ticket holders would deffo get into the talks, but night tickets holders may not.

No - that is not the case, love. We wouldn't be doing it if there was a chance that people would be locked out. We've been able to expand the day capacity. But check your email for further details soon.

Also.. I. should add that we're not upgrading ALL evening tickets to all-day tickets. It'll be first-come first served, once we send out the email. We have a limited number of extra daytime spaces, and thought we'd offer them to existing ticket-holders, should they want to come during the day.

Mr. B, can we have an eye-update please? I really hope your vision is now restored following the recent 'unpleasantness'.

More or less back to normal now thanks, feller - though my right cheek and right side of my lip still has no feeling in it. Came off the steroids too soon, because they were knocking me out every day... which has been a nightmare - but back to my usual self now, I think.

That's encouraging to hear, I'm glad you're well on the mend; I'm sure I couldn't be as stoic as your good self were I in that position - you're an inspiration Mr. B.

Dear Mr Biffo

I tried today to buy a t-shirt from your (so-called) Store to support your good work. Unfortunately everything was listed as out of stock. Everything that is except the Digitiser2000 logo t-shirt of which you had 1 (one) only in Small.

One. In Small.

What kind of a store is this???

No wonder this country is in the state it's in....Broken Britain

p.s. If you ever get round to replenishing your stock, I'd like a Zombie Dave in X-Large....(for £7.00 and with a free sticker) Thanks.

Oh, and keep up the good work.

New t-shirts coming very soon (and new designs, which will likely go on sale after the Digifest). We're just waiting on some samples coming in, as we want to change the t-shirt material. I like "soft ones".
