STAR WARS BATTLEPODCAST

Star Wars and video games have been around for, like, ages and that; ever since that very first, iconic, Star Wars arcade game drained ancient youths of their pocket money.

Alas, it's arguable that a good fifty percent of all Star Wars games since then have been real bad rubbish. For every X-Wing Vs TIE Fighter there's a Star Wars Rebellion, for every Dark Forces a Star Wars Demolition.

Quite why this should be, given the richness of source material, we honestly can't say. Well, we could probably speculate, but in all honesty we've been on the gin since dawn, and feel like going round to have a fistfight with our neighbour. Just, y'know, because (BECAUSE OF HIS FACE).

Anyhow... Star Wars video games got borned in the arcades, and it's to the arcades that we go for the next big hope - "A New Hope", if you will - in Star Wars-themed gaming. Created by Bandai Namco (the people whose pedigree includes Professional Lumberjack 2015 and Professional Lumberjack 2016) the Star Wars Battlepod will afford players the opportunity to immerse themselves in a hot bath of Star Wars spacefights - piloting many of the series key ships - via its wraparound screen.

And now? And now the official Star Wars website has unveiled behind-the-scenes footage of just what we can expect from the game. Be warned: this video features someone called "Orion Kellogg", who isn't even a Star Wars character. Yes: he actually exists...

I refuse to buy into anything when it involves a person called "Orion Kellogg". It's the one rule I've always stuck fast and hard to. And I've never once had any trouble, thank you very much!

For me it's more of an aspirational guideline that a solid rule per se because he's "O.K." in my book.

That book being The Man's Daddy's Book of Popular Comedy jokes.

The CGI on those people is impressive, but still a bit 'uncanny valley'.
