I dunno why nobody comments on these here. Perhaps they just comment on YouTube instead. I am a traditionalist, at any rate.

I thought I remembered other novel computer clusters beyond the PS2 / PS3, but can’t find any. There are a couple of forum posts out there about a hobbyist C64 cluster, but I don’t think it came to anything.

This was a great video, with both an in-depth look at the historical context and a personal reflection. I replayed Desert Strike last year and remember thinking how it began what Modern Warfare's gunship sequence continued. It's also interesting how critiques with overused words like 'jingoistic' levelled at CoD and Medal of Honor were originally thrown at Desert Strike, and by the Amiga press of all things. Not from an anti-war perspective or anything, but because they sought to denigrate what they saw as lowbrow: a console port.

I suffered from CoD and MoH fatigue and dropped out early on in those series, but still have a soft spot for the Strike games. They're not so po-faced and moody as those fps franchises. I was endeared by the end of Desert Strike where Bush Snr's dog does a big stinkus on the White House lawn in celebration of your victory.

I got my PlayStation 2 console six years after it was released. Yeah I wasn't really a fan of the game back in the year 2002, because I owned a Game Boy Advance then. I thought there was no game better than my Game Boy Advance back then, but it all changed when I played PlayStation 2 in my friend's house two years later. So I begged my parents back then to get me the PlayStation 2 console as a birthday gift in 2004 which they ended up given me two years later. Ever since then I have been a full time PlayStation Game Console lover. The article has really gotten my interest. I am going to bookmark your blog and keep checking for new details every week.
