We enjoy receiving parcels. We also enjoy receiving (nice) surprises (please: no "wet willies"). Frankly, it's a miracle we haven't yet subscribed to a loot crate. Then again... do they do loot crates which contain nothing but crisps and moisturiser? We enjoy both those things.
Now here is a loot crate service of which we wholeheartedly approve: retro games.
For an undisclosed monthly fee, My Retro Game Box will send its subscribers a crate containing "usually three" mystery retro games, based upon your old console preferences. As they're second-hand games, you can't guarantee you'll be getting mint, boxed copies with manuals, but we suspect that's part of the fun. Everyone likes other people's germs, right?
If you don't have an old console, you'll be able to buy one from My Retro Game Box's console store; you'll be able to choose from a variety of Game Boys, Nintendo and Sega systems.
Unfortunately, My Retro Game Box are not currently accepting new subscribers, but you'll be able to strap your name into their mailing list, and they'll drop you a line when the subscriber list becomes open again. If you're interested, that is. If you're not interested... well... whatever, yeah.
