If you've not read the three pieces I've written to date on the issue, the links are below. It's worth reading them in order, as you kind of see me working out my position as I go.
My words aside, I also thought you might want to have a read of Jim Sterling's review of The Beginner's Guide. It's a very personal piece, in which Jim admits he may have focused too hard on negative comments in the past, and that he has sought out attention and acclaim, while fearing the negativity.
It's self-aware, well written, and surprisingly moving. It also gives you a better insight into who Jim Sterling is, and why he does what he does in the way that he does it. Furthermore, it proves he's a capable and talented writer - who is far better than some of his content might suggest. And it shows why he's someone who can raise over $10,000 a month on Patreon - ten times what I'm making for Digitiser2000!
Of course, Jim's more conciliatory tone might've come too late to avoid a lawsuit, and it doesn't change my feelings regarding him and Digital Homicide... But it does demonstrate how what we present to the world is just the tip of a complex iceberg. People are never simple. Standing up in public can be lethal if you're not equipped to handle what may come your way. Trust me. I know.
Anyway. Have a read, if you've got time, for another part of the story.
