IT'S NOT FOR US TO TELL YOU WHAT TO DO WITH THESE PHOTOS OF VINTAGE GAMERS... BUT PERHAPS YOU'D LIKE TO SHOW THEM TO YOUR DAD IN THE BATH?

It's surreal to think that one day modern video games will look archaic and weird. That photos of people playing on the Xbox One, or using an Oculus Rift, or playing Pokemon Go, will be as of their time as the photos we display here: in this gallery of 70s and 80s gamers.

We don't want to put any pressure on you, but we'd like to suggest you might wish to show one or more of these photos to your dad while he's in the bath.
Here are three lads playing some sort of maze game. While it isn't our place to tell you what to do with this photo... it's worth considering that your dad just might be interested in taking a look at this image while he's in the bath.
Picture
There's something educational going on here. They're learning about the cosmos. It's just a suggestion, but this pic could become the starting point for a fun shared experience with your dad, were you to show it to him while he's in the bath.
Picture
"Knock knock".

"Who's there?"

"Dad, it's me. There's something I want to show you."

"I'm in the bath. Can it wait?"

"Not really..."
Picture
Look at all these guys playing games. You can't tell us that your dad wouldn't appreciate seeing this image while he's in the bath. Think of the conversation you'd have. There's so much to talk about here.
Picture
Admit it. You don't do enough with your dad these days. A couple of people playing Pong could be the start of something profound. Alright, your dad will be all wet and naked and covered in suds, but you don't have to look at him. Just avert your eyes and show him the picture. Ask him about it.
Picture
Admittedly, your dad might be looking for some 'me' time while he's in the bath. But you don't know for certain that it wouldn't be improved by an image of three 80s boys playing video games, one of whom is clearly startled.
Picture
Even if your dad has locked the bathroom door it shouldn't be too hard to get inside. Just shoulder-barge the lock off  - and make sure you have this image to hand. Otherwise, he's going to want to know what's going on.
Picture
An alternative idea is to hide somewhere in the bathroom with this photo, and wait for your dad to have a bath. All you need to do is emerge - once he's settled into the water - shouting "LOOK AT THIS, MY DAD!".
Picture
One boy playing noughts and crosses. One dad in the bath. You know your choices, but don't let us influence you...
Picture
Consider how your dad will feel when you show him this image while he's in the bath. Not every dad gets to be so lucky, to have a child who would show them a picture like this while he's having a sweet, all-over wash.
Picture
There are some nice shorts and baseball caps going on here. The ideal conversation starter between you and a dad in the bath. It doesn't even have to be your own dad: literally any dad will do, so long as he's in the bath.
Picture
Again, these are just suggestions. You don't have to show any of these pics to your dad in the bath. But if you don't, it could be the greatest missed opportunity of your life. You'll always be asking yourself "What if...?"

The first written thing I have read this month that has made me laugh out loud. Biffo was ace on the retro asylum podcast, which was how I found my way here, and in the bathroom this morning, with my mum, who used to be my dad.

K. Kardashian.

Good work Kim. I used know your mum back in the day when she used to be your dad. Back then though I was an octopus trapped inside an aardvarks body.

I could stare at that fifth picture for hours with my dad, both of us in the bath together. The long, skinny legs, the greasy hair, the naked, muscled back... and the photo is great too

Thanks for this. My dad is dead, and not in the bath. Now I will always regret that I never had the chance to share these pictures with him, whilst he was in the bath.

Someone should set up some kind of 'surrogate dad in a bath' service for people like me...otherwise I'll never have anyone to share these pictures with.

I don't wish to sound a pedant, but they're cycling caps that are being worn, not baseball caps.

Unfortunately we replaced our bath with a walk-in shower on account of my dad's arthritis. Would he enjoy these pictures as much in the shower? I doubt it. I think he'd need to be lying down with his body submerged in water to fully appreciate them.

I tried to show my bathing father some of my personal favourites from the above collection but my Mum was busy shitting into his waters. I have been reprimanded and hold YOU responsible. Think next time please?

My favourite is the publicity photograph arcade: clean carpets, bright lighting, and unattended bags not being stolen.

At least Token Lady, David Hasselhoff, and the jaunty rear end of Galaga Guy make some effort to convey engagement. Business Man is either a gaming master or thinks this ATM is broken.
