IT'S BACK! ADVANCED LAWNMOWER SIMULATOR 2015

Regular readers of our Digitiser2000 listicles will have doubtless seen our recent rundown of 10 Mundane Jobs That Got Turned Into Games. Wedged firmly into the belly of the list was Advanced Lawnmower Simulator - a deliberately terrible game created deliberately by the legendary Your Sinclair magazine.

Now Digitiser2000 reader "Mr Favus" has taken it upon himself to recreate the game for the 21st Century - with a number of special Digitiser references. You can play it here, find out more here, or just watch the trailer below, Darren:

I notice all the lawnmowers are either black or green, where are the white lawnmowers? It's political correctness gone mad.

PSB - there was a typo in the piece this morning. I spotted it before you did. A-hahahahaha! A-haha! In. Your. Face.

Did you accidentally write "I'm sorry for all my years of cussing the Amiga and realise I was wrong"?

The 'NOT SEXIST!' image being immediately followed by the lyric 'RAPE THE VIRGIN' is not lost on me.

I also made a ALS update, back in 2011. I called it "Lady Priest Lawnmower". The URL should be in my name. My apologies for the fact that is blatant spamming on my part. Feel free to delete this message if it offends.

My game is not sexist either: the protagonist is an empowered woman, and a member of the clergy, who overcomes the oppression of a Russian man named Sergei by literally turning into a lawnmower, thereby also making it an allegory for the victory of freedom over Communism. As the press blurb said: "It's the Brothers Karamazov for the modern age, examining religious faith while at the same time weaving a complex tale of love and redemption in a time of confusion. It follows the struggles and tribulations of woman priest at a time when she questions her purpose in life, there’s an obvious love tension with Sergei, who is also her kidnapper – but! By the end of the narrative becomes her psychological saviour, helping her to come to terms with her beliefs and desires in a conclusion that I’m sure no one will see coming."

Or something.

There's a photo of a man who looks like Luigi literally eating grass, which I know some will like.

I would have preferred a picture of a man who looks like Luigi literally eating ass :(

I watched this trailer and I was deeply touched. That's what I get for hanging around Dermot o' Fister, the local dodgy priest, I guess.

Every character I used either hit a rock or overheated... until I chose Anita Sarkeesian, then I magically mowed the whole lawn without incident. This game is yet another Indie-dev/SJW conspiracy to turn my lawn feminist.
