The worlds of gaming and Hollywood have never been closer. Big movie actors now lend their voices to games, and Hollywood is constantly plundering the game-o-sphere for inspiration - or, in the case of the recent Adam Sandler movie, Pixels - a lack of inspiration.
But something gaming really lacks is its own big celebrities. If only there was some way to imagine our games characters were being played by the biggest superstars in the world...
Well, now there is. In lieu of using our own eyes and brain, we fed the faces of ten gaming icons into the face-recognition software at Face++ to see which celebrity they most closely resemble. The results were, at best, profoundly pointless.

...Christian Bale. This one's fair enough, we suppose. They've both got the designer stubble, a similar streamlined nose, and they've both been known to kill a man for fixing the lighting while they're trying to play a scene.

...Jessica Biel. Again, fair enough. We'll give them this one. Interestingly, Angelina Jolie - who famously played the Tomb Raider in a couple of tepid movies - was only the second-highest match.

...Li Yugang. At first glance, it would appear that Face++ has merely searched for somebody wearing a similar pair of glasses to Bayonetta. However, Li Yugang is a performer in the National Opera and Dancing Company of China. In his professional capacity he looks like this:

...David Beckham. Well... alright then. But it's hard to reconcile Drake's gruff, alpha male persona with the manscaping and squeaky voice of professional pretty boy Bekcham.

...Brad Pitt. At first we thought this was absurd, but if you've kept up with Pitt as he's aged - commendably without the aid of Hollywood plastic surgeons, seemingly - his face has taken on the appearance of an overstuffed sausage skin, which makes him a dead ringer for Gears of War's leading man.
