
Hajime Satomi, CEO of Sega's parent company - Sega Sammy Group - this week revealed the project to reporters: "Sega Sammy Group is currently planning with Sony Pictures to create a live-action and animation hybrid ‘Sonic the Hedgehog’ movie scheduled for release in 2018."
Traditionally, video game movies haven't exactly set the box office alight, though the imminent, Michael Fassbender-starring Assassin's Creed movie is expected to do better than most.
However, with the right talent behind it, we dare say a Sonic movie will be huge.
