
It seems perverse that we should all be expected to exercise and diet in the middle of winter; a time when our evolutionary ancestors - whom we believe were bears - would traditionally be hibernating, making the most of their body's fat stores.
But such is the unrealistic body fascism of our society that we're all expected to spend 18 hours a day in the gym, and eat only lean mince and peas. Why would we do those things, when we own a television to watch and have a cupboard full of crisps to eat?
